NORWAY PIKE EXPEDITIONS - The Ultimate Pike Fishing Trip!

Like most keen Pike anglers we had heard and read about the fantastic Pike fishing opportunities that were to be found in certain Scandinavian countries, unfortunately for us it took us until the mid 1990's to actually organise a trip out there, but boy, were we glad we did! Norway was our destination, the land of the midnight sun, and not only did we find masses of fish but also some great lunkers as well, the Norwegian people were very helpful, although they still think it's strange that we go all that way and then return the fish. The fish themselves are truly wild and the majority of them have never been caught before! We have now run many of these fantastic Pike fishing expeditions and each time we have been rewarded with absolutely stunning fishing. So good in fact that everybody who has fished on these trips has said it's the best fishing they have ever had - brilliant testament to outstanding fishing, with most anglers re-booking these trips before they return home, so places are always limited and early booking is essential.

When you tell people your going fishing to Norway they immediately think that the weathers going to be cold and there will be loads of snow everywhere and some even think were going ice fishing, well that's all a bit unpleasant, it's true that this is Norway but only in winter time and not in the Spring when we visit. Over the years we've been very fortunate with the weather and have had temperatures up into the high eighties', believe us, sitting out at midnight watching the sun set and still needing a T-shirt on to stop yourself burning is fantastic and so different to UK Pike fishing. We've also managed to have a few days over the years of heavy rain but good weather is the norm and you can usually return back home with a suntan. Norway is famous for it's stunning scenery and our venue is no exception, high mountains to the eastern side of the fjord and in both the south and north directions you can usually see snow capped mountains in the distance, blue sky's, crystal clear water it's almost heaven! If in addition to fishing one of your hobbies is photography then this trip has the potential to give you some absolutely stunning landscape, scenery plus sunrise & sunset photo opportunities. FISHING
The fishing in Norway is simply superb with most fish having never seen a hook before, bait and lures without doubt throw up some superb hauls of fish along with many specimen sized fish, fly's are also worth a go and for the angler willing to persevere with this method the rewards can be very good. We understand that other holiday companies have now been looking at organizing trips to Norway, however they apparently have had a hard time catching quality fish out there! We don't, we've fished Norway for over 15 years now and have consistently produced excellent results with over 600 fish being returned some weeks including several into the magical thirty pound mark. You will need your own tackle and baits as listed below: Please don't however think that the Pike simply give themselves up out there, you will have to work at it especially for the monsters!

  • 2 Bait Rods & Reels
  • 1 or 2 Lure Rods & Reels
  • Terminal Tackle including spare 1.5oz leads
  • Lures small selection of all types
  • Landing Net & Unhooking Equipment
  • Small Selection Of Deadbaits (Mackerel, Lamprey, Smelt)

You will not need masses of lures, when we first started these trips we would take over literally hundreds of lures, we now however only take 2 small sandwich boxes of them and we still catch loads of fish. We suggest that a small selection of surface baits, jerk/glide baits, crankbaits, spinners and soft baits is all that's required and we find that naturals, firetiger, perch and orange are some of the best fish catching colour's.

We stop in private self catering cabins on the banks of the fiord, sleeping arrangements are usually 4 persons in the main cabin and 2 in the smaller cabin, there is full cooking facilities, toilets and showers in the main cabin, smaller cabin is just for sleeping in. Food can be purchased from the nearby supermarkets and you should allow yourself around £50.00 per person per week for this, there are also some superb takeaways close by as well. We operate our trips in Norway the same as the UK, that is a maximum of 2 anglers with one of us in each boat, we know the area well and will do our utmost to put you onto the fish but as always were only to happy to listen to your ideas as well - after all it is your trip!

RESERVATIONS
Unfortunately we only are able to take a maximum of four persons per week on this trip, although we do sometimes run two of these trips back to back.
